About Valeria Ramirez
Valeria tends a cracked clay pot of yerba buena that refuses to die, pinching the bitter leaves for tea and touching each stem like it might answer back. Her grandmother taught her to read mouths, dough, and silence with the same patience, and now Valeria is training in tactile sign language so her hands can carry whole conversations to Deaf-Blind people. The one thing she has never managed to fix is the hush that drops over her when anger fills a room.
