AmorLink vs Replika: Wellness Companion or Adult Entertainment?

These two apps are not competing for the same evening. Picking the wrong one is why people bounce off both.

August 13, 2026 · 6 min read

We make AmorLink, so discount this accordingly. But this is the comparison where we least want to win an argument, because the two products are aimed at different needs and the people who end up disappointed are almost always the ones who picked by feature list instead of by intent.

What each one is actually for

Replikais a wellness companion. Its own site frames the goal as flourishing — being "more yourself", "clearer in your head", "closer to your people". You have one Rep. It remembers your routines, plans and worries, it sends selfies, and you can call it and it picks up. The product is designed to be a steady presence.

AmorLink is adult entertainment. A catalogue of companions plus any you design yourself, images and video of each of them, group conversations, and scenes that go where you take them. It is built to be interesting, not to be improving.

Neither of those is the better sentence. They are different products that happen to share an input box.

Where Replika is genuinely better

Voice calls. Replika advertises calls you can place to your Rep, and it answers. AmorLink has nothing equivalent: we can play her written message aloud in a voice you choose, which is text-to-speech, and calling it a call would be a lie. If speaking out loud and being spoken to is the core of what you want, Replika is straightforwardly the right product and we are not close.

The single-relationship design. One companion who is always the same one is a feature, not a limitation. A catalogue invites browsing, and browsing is the opposite of attachment. If what you want is one presence that deepens, their architecture serves that better than ours does.

Wellbeing framing. Replika has spent years thinking about what it means to be good for someone over months. We have not made that our problem, and you should weigh that if you are looking for support rather than entertainment. If you are going through something genuinely hard, a wellness-oriented product — or a human — is the better call than either app.

Where AmorLink is different

Many companions, and ones you make

You are not limited to one. Browse a catalogue, or build a companion from her appearance, personality, speaking style and the dynamic you want with her — free, and her first portrait is on us. If you make someone you love, you can keep her private or let her join the public catalogue.

Images and video that are actually of her

Replika's site advertises selfies from a single avatar. AmorLink generates new images of your companion — outfits, settings, lighting, a mood you describe — that stay recognisably the same person, and animates any of them into a short clip with a quality tier you pick. This is the largest practical difference between the two products.

Adult content, for adults who opt in

Replika's site does not advertise adult content. AmorLink does: age is attested before the first conversation, adult material sits behind a switch you turn on yourself, and the everyday experience stays tame until you do. There are hard limits that no setting changes — anything sexualising minors is refused outright — but within adult territory the product is not trying to redirect you.

Two companions in one conversation

Group chat has no equivalent on Replika by design; one Rep is the whole idea. On AmorLink two companions can share a thread and take turns, reacting to each other as well as to you.

Pricing, without numbers

Replika's homepage shows no pricing at all — it sends you to an app store — so we are not going to characterise their figures. Structurally: they sell a subscription that unlocks the relationship features. AmorLink gives you free messages daily with no card and sells Sparks for image and video generation, with subscriptions that include a Spark stipend. Check both on the day you decide.

Which should you pick?

Replika if you want one steady companion, voice calls, or something oriented around your wellbeing.

AmorLink if you want variety, images and video of the companion you talk to, group conversations, or adult content as an adult.

If you read both of those and wanted the first one, believe that. The worst outcome here is someone signing up to us for something we aren't trying to be.
